When my spirit faints within me,
you know my way!
In the path where I walk
they have hidden a trap for me.
Psalm 142:3 (ESV)
The baby isn’t napping, I’m behind in my writing, the house is a wreck and I have to submit my plans for Women’s Bible Studies next Spring by Friday.
Overwhelmed? Yes. Definitely. But where does that feeling send me?
To my day planner, frantic? To bed, defeated? To my friends, for sympathy?
I pray that this sense of overwhelm would always send me, and you, straight to Jesus, for he alone knows the way we should go.
He knows my next right thing. He knows what I can put off and what needs to be handled right now. And best of all- he cares enough to show me the way when I ask for directions.
Are you feeling overwhelmed this morning? Stop. Right now, stop. Run to Jesus with thanksgiving and praise for a new day. Present him with everything on your plate and ask him, “ Which way do I go, Lord?”
Then listen and move.
